University of St. Francis

francis.jpgFounded in 1890 in Lafayette, Indiana, and relocated to Fort Wayne in 1944, the University of Saint Francis is a private, Catholic university with a student population of 2,300.

The University needed to improve the sound delivery and quality in their recently purchased historical Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center, which is used for theatrical presentations, concerts, commencement, and speaking events.

ASG pulled wire and installed a new eight-speaker sound system. They installed JBL subs and mains above the proscenium, including two 12’ vertical speakers on either side of stage, in the auditorium.

With a 52’ ceiling height and an orchestra pit that would not support traditional scaffolding, ASG was challenged by the 40’+ speaker mounting height.

After consulting with a large equipment vendor, it was decided the safest and most cost-effective solution was to utilize a specialty lift used in window washing. This solution provided the stability and flexibility required to complete the work in a safe, efficient manner.

Despite the complexity of the sound system, the location of the speakers, and a very tight installation time frame, Advanced Systems Group (ASG) delivered the project on time and within budget.
